Andrea participated in the Women Owned Law inaugural Symposium, the first-ever devoted to “Women’s Entrepreneurship in the Law”. Held on March 11, 2020 in Philadelphia, the Symposium brought together a diverse mix of successful women entrepreneurs in the law.
The Symposium, and its focus on women’s entrepreneurship in the law, was very timely. Women lawyers generally continue to face the four big obstacles of gender stereotyping, inflexible workplace structures, inadequate access to mentoring, and unequal pay, reports the American Bar Association. Women Owned Law (WOL) is comprised of people who believe that women legal entrepreneurs should succeed and thrive. The Symposium brought together members and supporters who explored, among other topics, creative ways to develop, run and grow a business in the legal industry; best practices for running a successful law firm; and raising the profile of women’s entrepreneurship in the legal ecosystem.
Andrea chairs the Washington DC regional committee and sits on the Board and Leadership Group of Women Owned Law.
