In 2012, I was privileged to be able to present to the Embassy of Jamaica of copies of published articles on Caribbean trade issues. The latest article included in the copies is titled “Dangerous Dancehall Reggae and Caribbean Treaty Obligations” and applies international trade law to a discussion of recent bans by CARICOM member states on performances of Jamaican reggae artistes. This is a topic of immediate relevance and growing importance to the Caribbean as the issue may lead to a case being filed with the regional tribunal, the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ). The articles are for the library of the Jamaican Embassy to the United States of America. The Ambassador has also sent copies to the Library of the CCJ, and to the Faculties of Law at the University of the West Indies, Mona, and the University of Technology in Jamaica.
